This month you have not one but three chances to hear today's best-known and emerging Black women jazz artists take the stage in Harlem.
It's all part of the Schomburg Center's 31st annual Women's Jazz Festival, happening at the library's Langston Hughes Auditorium over the next three Mondays.
The series kicks off tonight with "Moods of Her," a concert featuring drummer percussionist Shirazette Tinnin joined by vocalist and saxophonist Orange Coffee, bassist Amina Scott, guitarist Alicyn Yaffe, pianist Brittany Anjou, and tap dancer Maurice Chestnut.
Up next Monday is the all-woman Original Pinettes brass brand bringing the sounds of New Orleans, followed by vocalist and songwriter Lizz Wright on March 20.
Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
