Carousel season kicks off this weekend in Riverbank State Park, home of the utterly one-of-a-kind Totally Kid Carousel.

You'll have three full days to enjoy the colorful ride, starting on Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27.

After that the carousel will be open on Saturdays and Sundays until June 30. (Stay tuned for the summer schedule.)

The carousel also has terrific views of the Hudson River.

At heart, the ride is a spectacular piece of public art—artist Milo Mottola based his funky flamingos, octopuses and other animals on drawings by local elementary school students. It just happens to have moving parts and be geared towards kids.

As a bonus, the carousel also has amazing views of the Hudson River.
