A new twice-weekly food market is debuting this weekend on the City College campus in Hamilton Heights.
Market in the Heights, with plans to combine an artisan market, a farmers market, a CSA and a food pantry, will open this Saturday, April 30 on Convent Avenue and W 138th Street.
It will return every Thursday and Saturday until October 29.
The event will kick off as an artisan market this weekend and include a farmer's market starting Thursday, May 5. A CSA and food pantry will be added on June 9.
The market is part of a project by the nonprofit Team Unity that is "accelerating nutrition equity for a healthier New York."
Featured food vendors this Saturday include Harlem's own Little Hot Dog Wagon, Cano Coffee Company, Brinsmade Bakeshop, Anthi's Greek Specialties and about eight others.
The farmer's market coming next Thursday will include vendors bringing fresh produce, meat and dairy, including Triple J Farms, Gonzalez Farms and the McGrath Cheese Company.
Market hours are from noon to 6pm.
