Movies at the Palace 2024 is back with another screening under this year's theme, "Season of Friendship."
The uptown film series, taking place at the historic United Palace in Washington Heights, returns with "Thelma & Louise" on Monday, August 26 at 7pm.
The screening will be introduced by Broadway's Emma Pittman (The Outsiders, Chicago) and Katie LaDuca (Back to the Future).
Tickets ($5) can be purchased in advance on the United Palace website.
The "Season of Friendship" theme was chosen by the theater's fans at the beginning of the year.
The remaining three films in the series include "The Breakfast Club," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," and "Little Women" (2019). No dates have been announced yet.
(Note: This film series is separate from the one hosted by United Palace friend and patron Lin-Manuel Miranda. The actor will not be in attendance.)
Movies at the Palace offers a unique opportunity to see the landmark venue's spectacularly decorated interior up-close.
Built in 1930, the United Palace was one of five Loew’s “Wonder Theatres" and includes a 3,000-plus-seat auditorium.
