The track and field at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park in West Harlem is back open after a $5 million renovation.
The refurbishment, which had closed off the area to the public since March, includes a complete resurfacing of the track and field, drainage improvements, plus other fixes.
It is part of a larger $26 million investment from the state that is being used for upgrades to the park's locker room facilities and the performing arts center (which still look to be in progress).
New signs placed around the field, made of astro-turf, ban the use of any type of cleats.
