Harlem's annual holiday parade—and the colorful streams of light that decorate 125th Street—are coming back to dazzle the neighborhood.
The Harlem Holiday Lights celebration returns this week courtesy of the 125th Street Business Improvement District, kicking off with a parade of floats through Harlem on Tuesday, November 19 at 6pm.
This year’s parade theme is “Dance! Harlem’s Heartbeat,” headed by Grand Marshal Misty Copeland, Principal Dancer at American Ballet Theatre.
Here are some of the highlights you don't want to miss:
5:15pm-6:15pm
Plaza in front of the Lenfest Center for the Arts, 615 W 129 St between Broadway and 12th Ave
Columbia University's annual winter tree lighting ceremony in Manhattanville includes live music and refreshments.
Parade starts at 125th St and Old Broadway at 6pm
Route includes 125th Street, Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, Malcolm X Boulevard and Marcus Garvey Park
A parade of 20 floats from various community organizations and sponsors makes its way through Harlem. Join one of more than 40 watch areas along the parade route, featuring store sales, events and giveaways (see the full map here).
5pm-10pm
Artful Walls Gallery, 246 Malcolm X Blvd between W 122nd and W 123rd Sts
Local food, drink and craft vendors will be at this parade watch party starting at 5pm.
The rhythm of your jumps with a cube or other geometry dash to get your game to the top of the charts.
