It's been a long wait, but Trader Joe's is finally coming to Harlem.
The beloved grocer's first uptown location will be at 121 W 125th Street between Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevards, according to the New York Post.
The address is across the street from the Whole Foods that opened in 2017.
The 28,000-square-foot store will be in a new 17-story development known as the Urban League Empowerment Center, set to open in 2023. It will house the National Urban League's headquarters, a civil rights museum, affordable rental apartments, plus office space.
A new Target will also be opening in the space.
In a recently posted statement that mentions the new Harlem store, the grocer announced, “We are focusing on neighborhood diversity as an important factor in selecting new store locations."
