City Seeking New Art Proposals for 191st Street Tunnel Beautification

• The Department of Transportation is inviting artists to submit proposals for the latest beautification project of the 191st Street Tunnel in Washington Heights, due by April 14. The city agency painted over the tunnel's old murals, which had been obscured by graffiti, as part of a clean-up in January. [NYC DOT]


• The first uptown subway bathroom to reopen since the pandemic will be the 168th Street A, C station in Washington Heights. The renovated restroom will be back in service in May. [Patch]
